1-2 Japanese Watch Exports & Domestic Shipments in value
- Total shipments of complete watches by Japanese manufacturers in 2021 (including shipments from overseas) were 52 million units, up 18% from the previous year, and 227.5 billion yen in value, up 13%.
- In terms of units by type, analog quartz rose 17%, digital quartz rose 23%, and mechanical rose 4% from the previous year.
- As a reference, total shipments of complete watches and watch movements in 2021 were 307 million units, up 33% from the previous year and 272.4 billion yen in value, up 17%.

- Exports of complete watches by Japanese manufacturers in 2021 were 47 million units, up 20% from the previous year and 147.4 billion yen in value, up 20%.
- In terms of main export destinations of complete watches, the value to Asia increased by 13% compared to the previous year, and other regions also saw an increase.

- Domestic shipments of complete watches by Japanese manufacturers in 2021 were 6 million units, up 2% from the previous year, and 80.1 billion yen in value, up 4%.
