The 16th Asian Horological Trade & Industry Promotion Conference

The 16th Asian Horological Trade & Industry Promotion Conference was held at the Keio Plaza Hotel, Tokyo from October 15 through 17, hosted by Japan Clock & Watch Association. Held for the 2nd time in Japan after an interval of 14 years, the conference was attended by 204 participants from 9 watch & Clock associations in Asia.

The theme of this conference this time was "Standardization; Partnership for Further Development". It implies the importance of not only standardizing technologies for manufacturing, but also establishing standardized rules common to trade, sales, and distribution, and contributing to the further development of the Asian horological industry through mutual cooperation.

The Japan Clock and Watch Association believes that it was quite beneficial to all participants as we had an opportunity to explain about this theme in the Chief Delegate Speech, take up the subject of "Global Environmental problems and Corporate Social Responsibility" in the Keynote Speech, discuss intellectual property as well as ISO technical standardization in the Workshops, and, furthermore, exhibit the advanced technologies of the Japanese holological industry at the Watch & Clock Technology Exhibits with the support of our member companies.
