  • Total shipments of complete watches by Japanese manufacturers in 2023 (including shipments from overseas) were 49.9 million units, decreased of 4% from the previous year, and a value of 279.9 billion yen, increased of 9%.
  • In terms of units by type, analog quartz was down 8%, digital quartz was flat, and mechanical rose 10% from the previous year.
  • As a reference, total shipments of complete watches and watch movements in 2023 were 224.4 million units, down 16% from the previous year and 321.2 billion yen in value, up 6%.

  • In terms of main export destinations of complete watches, the European market increased by 19%, North America by 5%, while Asia had increase of 1% from the previous year.
