1-1. Development of Japanese Watch Exports & Domestic Shipments by Type (Complete Watches)

* The figures of the value in 2008 and after are incomparable to those of previous years.
1-2. 2009 Japanese Watch Exports & Domestic Shipments by Type & Component Ratio (Complete Watches)

- The 2009 shipments of Japanese complete watches under JGO decreased to 57 million units and 151.2 billion yen by 19% in unit and 23% by amount respectively compared to the previous year.
- An analysis by type in units in comparison with the previous year shows -19% and -17% for alanog quartz and digital watches respectively, and -24% for mechanical watches.
- As for the Component ratio, analog quartz accounted for 68%, digital quartz for 27%, and mechanical watches for 5% in terms of units, the same as the previous year.
- For additional information, the 2009 total shipments of Japanese complete watches and watch movements under JGO decreased to 543 million units by 16% compared to the previous year, and the value amounted to 196.9 billion yen with the decline of 23%.

1-4. 2009 World Distribution of Japanese Watch Exports (Complete Watches)

- The 2009 exports of Japanese complete watches (including those from overseas facilities and ports) decreased in units by 20% to 50.4 million units, and in value by 27% to 87.1 billion yen respectively, in relation to the previous year.
- Regarding destination of exported Japanese complete watches (including those from overseas facilities and ports), all destinations show decrease both in unit and value, in relation to the previous year.

1-5. 2009 Japanese Watch Domestic Shipments by Type & Component Ratio (Complete Watches)

- The 2009 domestic shipments of Japanese complete watches decreased in units by 13% in relation to the previous year, amounting to 6.3 million units, and the value amounted to 64.1 billion yen with the decline of 18%.
- The shipment share of radio controlled watches against all watches was 24% in units, and 39% in value.

2-2. 2009 Japanese Clock Exports & Domestic Shipments by Type & Component Ratio

- Others refer to Instrument Panel Clock & clocks of a similar type for vehicles, aircraft, spacecraft, or vessels, and other clocks.
- The 2009 shipments of Japanese complete clocks under JGO decreased to 15.6 million units and 28.1 billion yen by 14% in unit and 17% by amount respectively compared to the previous year.
- An analysis by type in units in comparison with the previous year shows -10% for table clocks and -12% for wall clocks respectively.
- As for the Component ratio, table clocks accounted for 58%, and wall clocks for 25% in terms of units.
- For additional information, the 2009 total shipments of Japanese complete clocks and clock movements under JGO decreased to 20 million units by 17% compared to the previous year, and the value amounted to 28.6 billion yen with the decline of 18%.

- Regarding destination of exported Japanese complete clocks (including those from overseas facilities and ports), all destinations show decrease both in unit and value, in relation to the previous year.

2-5. 2009 Japanese Clock Domestic Shipments by Type & Component Ratio

- The 2009 domestic shipments of Japanese complete clocks decreased in units by 11% in relation to the previous year, amounting to 11.6 million units, and the value amounted to 24.5 billion yen with the decline of 17%.
- The shipment share of radio controlled clcoks against all clocks was 44% in units, and 58% in value.
