Q15 Are watches/clocks affected by static electricity?

  • Under static electricity, incorrect time may be indicated or electronic components may be destroyed. If your watch/clock does not operate normally, inspection (at cost) is recommended.

  • A watch/clock with a liquid crystal display may cause temporary spreading to its unlit part due to static electricity, which has no effect on the functions. It is restored to its original condition after discharge.

(Note): The above information applies to the members of the Japan Clock & Watch Association and their products.
