Q6 What are the meanings of the marks ,, etc., in the instruction manual of a watch/clock?


In case incorrect handling can pose hazards, the mark and a signal word, such as WARNING or CAUTION, may be indicated in the instruction manual. Also the prohibited action mark may be indicated meaning incorrect handling should be prohibited. There may be a compulsory action mark indicated in the instruction manual that should always be followed.

Please carefully read the instruction manual, and use your watch/clock by correct handling methods.

The signal word “WARNING” represents the contents assuring possibility for death or serious injury when the watch/clock is used in any manner different form given instructions, and signal word
“CAUTION” represents the contents assuming possibility of causing human injury or material damage only when the watch/clock is used in any manner different form given instructions.

Other signal words ”DANGER” and “PROHIBITED” may be indicated when it is necessary.

Cautionary statements can be divided into “STATUS Indications” to provide information about the types/natures of dangers the watch/clock may have, and “ACTION Indications” to indicate the actions prohibited or directed to prevent the occurrence or elicitation of those dangers.
