Q&A regarding radio-controlled watches/clocks

Q9 What are appropriate measures to be taken when my radio-controlled clock cannot display the correct time or a malfunction is observed immediately after battery replacement?

The following symptoms are commonly seen:

- The clock has stopped for 20 minutes or longer.
- The hands keep turning and do not stop.
- The clock does not receive radio waves.
- The clock does not move even if the time setting button is pressed.

If any of the above symptoms is observed immediately after battery replacement, take the following actions:

(1) Check the recommended expiration date indicated on the battery body. If you find the battery is past its expiration date, replace it with a new one.

(2) Make sure that the battery is inserted in the correct direction. If it is inserted in the wrong direction, reinstall the battery in the correct direction.

(3) Make sure that the positive and negative terminals of the battery and their contact parts with the battery compartment are clean. If they are contaminated, wipe each surface.

After carrying out the above (1) to (3), securely press the reset button.
Then, locate the clock in a good reception environment to allow it to receive radio waves.
