  • The 2011 shipments of Japanese complete watches under JGO decreased in units by 2% amounting to 64.3million units, and increased in value by 1% amounting to 168.9 billion yen, in relation to the previous year.
  • An analysis by type in units in comparison with the previous year shows -0.4% for analog quartz, -6% for digital watches, and -7% for mechanical watches respectively.
  • For additional information, the 2011 total shipments of Japanese complete watches and watch movements under JGO decreased in units by 7% amounting to 624 million units, and increased in value by 2% amounting to 230.2 billion yen, in relation to the previous year.

  • The 2011 exports of Japanese complete watches (including those from overseas facilities and ports) decreased in units by 2% amounting to 57.9 million units, and increased in value by 2% amounting to 101 billion yen, in relation to the previous year.
  • Regarding destination of exported Japanese complete watches (including those from overseas facilities and ports), North America and Asia show increase, and Europe keeps same level in value, in relation to the previous year.

  • The 2011 domestic shipments of Japanese complete watches decreased by 3% in units and slightly decreased in value, in relation to the previous year, amounting to 6.4 million units, and 67.9 billion yen in value.

  • The 2011 shipments of Japanese complete clocks under JGO kept same level in units amounting to 17.3 million units, and decreased in value by 3% amounting to 29.5 billion yen, in relation to the previous year.
  • An analysis by type in units in comparison with the previous year shows -1% for table clocks and +7% for wall clocks.
  • For additional information, the 2011 total shipments of Japanese complete clocks and clock movements under JGO increased in units by 3% amounting to 23 million units, and decreased in value by 2% amounting to 30.2 billion yen, in relation to the previous year.

  • Regarding destination of exported Japanese complete clocks (including those from overseas facilities and ports), N.America shows increase in value, in relation to the previous year.

  • The 2011 domestic shipments of Japanese complete clocks increased by 3% amounting to 12.8 million in units and decreased by 3% amounting to 25.6 billion yen in value, in relation to the previous year.
  • The shipment share of radio controlled clocks against all clocks was 48% in units, and 57% in value.
